Do you know whats the longest railway station name is??
The answer is in this web.

First when I saw that name, I can't stop laughing by imagining the anouncement in the train.
Also, see how long the sign has to be to fit all the words in....

ALL TIME FIRST BLOG
Hey Guys, this is my very first blog and I hope I do it right.
Well I've always been interested in guitars and people who play them. I'm not interested in people just playing chords, I want them to be able to shred and be technical virtuosos of their time. It always amazes me when I watch someone do something that I can't do. I mean, I play guitar and all but I'm no way near as good as these guys, which makes them my idols of sorts.
P.S. For some reason I didn't get the invite from Mark and I would like to thank Khaia for forwarding the email to me.
Khaia, your a lifesaver !
Rachel, TEAM No. 1 RULES !
Hope you guys enjoy.

Talking about art, I just found out there is Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition at Metreon, which features most of his famous pieces. The exhibition is presented for the first time in North America and I think its something definitely worth going to.

LA/SF artist.
Hey class! So Im really into contemporary fine art, and Im always surfing for interesting/crazy work from working artists. So there is this artist from D.C., Richard Colman that is really awesome! He lives/ works out of LA and SF, two best places ever! He had a show a few weeks ago here in SF, and the work is freakin crazy! Fecal face did an interview with him, and they have pics of the show... check some of the work out! Its really trippy!
The second link is his official website.
This is just a warning
Honestly- I am warning you. The last year of my life is on a blog. I am just saying, if you aren't prepared to be 1. bored 2. horrified 3. offended 4. unable to read typos or 5. Just plain (yawn) can' t be bothered by another blog dont go here. Oh yeah, or if you want to be a lawyer someday and not have all of your preconceived notions of the glamorous life the institution of calling yourself an attorney brings- don;t click the link. But, I am sure, since you have made the WISE decision to go to art school- you are not intending on an incredibly dull dry life of crime. Good for you. You are already one up on the rest of America. and me.

Ninja's didnt help invent sushi
Have you seen these machines around town? They're everywhere. They contain little clear and bright colored plastic balls that have mini Winnie the Pooh's dressed up as a million things for $1. Are you wtf-ing right now? Ok fine, it's wierd but we'll just pretend winnie the pooh is having a damn identity crisis. Anyway, the back to school series just came out. Theyre so adorable! I guess Its a little twisted especially when Pooh dresses up as a goldfish or his old school buddy Eeyore. The newest series you can find him dressed up as a notebook. Thats the one I want now.
You can buy the whole set online but it's so much more fun to force mr. boyfriend to get you four quarters so you can turn the little dial and hope to complete your collection. Or of course, cuss out the machine and kick it, just to come back in five minutes with four more quarters and say "please, please, give me the sandbucket one..."
I have no idea what Im going to do with them in a few months but Im compulsively spoiled and I want them. All of them. Hey, at least your not reading about some classmate thats collecting stamps. (err..no offense to anyone that collects stamps. Stamps are...um, cool.)
Check'em out here. http://www.gachausa.com/products/wtp.asp#
Last month while on the summer collection, it took me getting 6 coconut trees, 2 pink shells, 4 pineapples, and 2 suns before I got the sandbucket.
Does this mean platform shoes are coming back in style?
So here is an interesting headline I came across the other day. The Spice Girls Tour sold out it's London dates in 38 seconds, and now tickets are being sold on ebay for around 900 Euros. And to think, in seventh grade I sold their CD to my friend for five dollars thinking they were so over.
If you guys have a lazy Sunday afternoon ahead of you, you can check out my page for links to a great radio program that will surely keep you entertained. Radio is great because you can still get things done while listening. If you enjoy those stories, I highly recommend the This American Life Podcast on itunes.

FILM.
since i am a film major i try to be as active as i can in local film festivals-whether i'm volunteering, participating, organizing or just simply viewing-i like to be a part of the festival community. last night i was able to see an unbelievable film, done in B&W, and directed by anton corbijn called control-a biopic about ian curtis and the band joy division. run don't walk to see this film but be warned it is sad. the mill valley film festival is currently running, so you should check out some amazing films, if you can. here is a trailer for control and some links.

How to be funny

Demitri Martin is a comedian who has appeared on Comedy Central, on the Daily Show and in a series of quirky online ads for Microsoft Vista, which you can see here.
In an article in New York magazine, he describes the process by which he writes his jokes. It's a method that could easily be applied to writing headlines for ads.
For example, once he has established the topic of the joke, he says that he, "(will) identify the elements of the joke and wonder about how those elements go together. It means taking nothing for granted, which makes the world much more interesting to me."
You can read his Anatomy of a Joke here.
